2015 Testimony on H2032–Sharon Eddy

The Joint Committee on Public Health heard testimony on July 28, 2015 on H2032 – Resolve to establish a commission to study the health impacts from wind turbines to protect the health of the citizens of the commonwealth, sponsored by Representative Sarah Peake.

Sharon Eddy’s remarks (7-28-15)

My first encounter with Wind I was at 11 p.m. immediately after startup.  I was typing a letter on my computer when I felt a direct push on my chest. It knocked whatever I was thinking out of my head and I remember thinking, “What the heck just happened?” That was the beginning of a long, long nightmare.
A month later, my learning disabled son, whose IQ is 73, came to visit during the day. He went out onto our back deck and said, “Mom, I just felt something on my body.” Then he said, “I don’t want to sound dumb, but is that thing turning?”

To the Board of Health:
My name is Sharon Eddy and I live approx. 1,650′ from Wind I. My home is situated at a high elevation. I am hear to testify as to the ongoing and relentless assault on my body, mind and spirit which I am willing to back with release of my medical records and a 2 1/2 month sleep journal I kept and also filed with the Town of  Falmouth.
The memory loss. the loss of balance, loss of appetite, ringing in the ears, head pressure, lack of concentration, and most of all the sleep deprivation resulting in extreme fatigue so horrendous that I had to leave my home, not once or twice, but four times in order to recuperate for one to two weeks at a time. I dreaded going home. The first two days of visit was sleeping as much as 14 hours the first day, 12 the next and so on.  My health has taken a turn for the worse since the installation and operation of first, Wind I then the second industrial turbine, Webb I.  I will not go into the details at this moment, however, welcome any inquiries at a later date.
In ending, I would like to say that I would not wish this torture on any living thing. Thank you for the three minutes.
Sincerely,
Sharon P. Eddy

2-21-13  Sleeping most of the day and night. Absolutely no energy to do anything.
4-3-13  Exhausted all day. Got a load of clothes done. Wind turbine loud.
I’ve always believed in science and collection of data and findings to back a theory or inquiry…only then can we learn.
